Now the opera is rushing into an age of competition as well. An age of competition has a common meaning with artistic commercialism. Artistic commercialism means the creation of diversity which raises the quality level as a work of art, and then approaches the public inside. From this, Die Zauberflote (Masuelpiri), which will be played by the BESETO opera company from April 1st to 6th in the Seoul Arts Center, is expected to satisfy a variety of people as a work of art possessing competitiveness.
2005 is a year when that opera Die Zauberflote has been planned three times. The leader Kang Wha Ja is preparing the work delicately from a set, a postur, dresses to presentation with a passion about a work, and love toward members. This performance will show the best stage by all the cast of Czecho Prague City opera company finishing the successful play last year in Japan.
Also, new members selected through a hard audition and the best internal vocalist will participate in that. Finally, we can look out a planning intention to improve the image and name of Korea internationally.
The opera Die Zauberflote, composed by Mozart at the end of his life, is one of the international operas gaining the public's heart steadily up to this day since it was first performed successfully in Vienna in 1791.
The work is filled with the gossip such as an animation relating an political irony and the freedom, equality and charity are the motto and the basis of it. A basic conflict planning of this work is the showdown between Zarastro and the queen of the night. It means a contrast between goodness and badness and between light and darkness. The conclusion that Zarastro repulses the queen of the night in the end suggests the triumph of virtue.
The opera Die Zauberflote has various aspects in form of music. It has diverse and gorgeous features containing almost all of the music forms of popular opera at that time, such as Vienna style folk songs, German style aria, a technical coloratura, an opera seria etc. So, it makes people fall into the mystery of an imaginative world. It is also approved for its artistic value, because it gives us boundless potential energy and chance.
How about falling into the charm of opera through the opera Die Zauberflote, composed by Mozart? It will arouse sympathy as the content includes a lesson of morals, a promotion of virtue and reproval of vice above the nation which people of all ages and both sexes can enjoy.
